About the role
This opportunity is in Junction City, KS, at an agricultural track facility. The facility is expanding and will become one of the best automated and tech-savvy facilities in the region, serving the growing agriculture industry. Located 15 minutes from Manhattan, home to the K-State Wildcats, the area offers a blend of urban amenities, outdoor activities, dining options, and college sports events.
Responsibilities
- Complete the Mechanical Engineering portion of projects in support of the Plant Capital Project execution.
- Provide daily Plant Technical support, ensuring the Plant meets its Safety, Market, Productivity, and Quality goals.
- Assist management with pre-studies of deployment and development projects in the M.E. field.
- Complete design studies, follow procurement and fabrication of equipment, and lead the installation, commissioning, and startup of the equipment in an industrial plant environment.
- Manage design studies for industrial equipment installations necessary for the success of the Plant’s capital projects.
- Acquire validation of projects during the installation, start-up, and ramp-up of the equipment in collaboration with team members.
- Facilitate procurement, factory acceptance tests, and maintain “as built” folders for assigned material and equipment projects.
- Provide project support, especially during installation, start-up, and ramp-up phases, which may involve being "on-site" and "hands-on."
- Create budget estimates and bid packages on assigned projects.
- Provide project documentation: mechanical designs, technical offers, safety risk assessments, quality risk assessments, maintenance & operator training documents, and user manuals.
- Lead mechanical contractors or maintenance installation teams during equipment modifications and machine installations through start-up and commissioning.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, customer service skills, and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Self-motivation with a high degree of integrity and ability to perform job duties with minimal direction on a timely basis.
- Experience with mechanical design standards; OSHA, ASME, ANSI, ISO, etc.
- Proven knowledge of SOLIDWORKS and Microsoft Office.
- Project Management experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Ability to work in an industrial plant environment.
- Knowledge of local regulations and compliance with performance and costs.
- Experience with feasibility studies and solution evaluation.
- Experience with quality system and established methods (risk analyses, FMEA, design reviews, quality planning, treatment of non-conformities, etc.).
- Experience with procurement, factory acceptance tests, and maintaining "as built" folders.
- Experience with project documentation creation and project support during installation, start-up, and ramp-up phases.
- Experience leading mechanical contractors or maintenance installation teams during equipment modifications and machine installations.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
The position is full-time and requires regular attendance and availability to work on-site as needed.
