Mechanical Engineer

Essential Responsibilities

• Aid in machine and process improvements
• Support relocation and installation of new equipment
• Develop installation drawings and provide guidance to maintenance teams and contractors
• Conduct meetings with contractors to review drawings, specifications, and project requirements
• Obtain project quotations and serve as the primary contact for contractors
• Order parts and supplies necessary to complete projects
• Create and maintain CAD drawings and related documentation, including work orders and contractor forms
• Cookordinate project requirements with Engineering, Operations, and external contractors
• Participate in planning, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement meetings
• Maintain working knowledge of standard factory equipment, manufacturing processes, and machine shop operating conditions
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management

Additional Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated commitment to driving and promoting a proactive safety culture
• Experience with contractor coordination and negotiations
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and shift priorities effectively
• Strong problem-solving capability with hands-on experience applying methodologies such as 8D, Six Sigma, PFMEA, DMAIC, and other root cause analysis and continuous improvement tools
• Experience managing material and labor costs within departmental budgets
• Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and CAD software
