Mechanical Engineer

About the role

This position is for a mechanical engineer to provide engineering support for field turnbacks received from the elevator field mechanics. The engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining product integrity, evaluating opportunities, and integrating new component designs into existing systems, while working to meet agreed upon cost and schedule commitments.

Responsibilities

• Component design
• Modeling
• Cost analysis
• Technical documentation
• Testing of a wide range of elevator components
• Work closely with field representatives to drive closure of the Field Turnback Backlog by implementing engineering changes as part of the change control process

Qualifications

• BS degree in mechanical engineering with 3+ years' experience
• On-site work required

Skills

• Strong mechanical engineering background
• Design and modeling of mechanical components with Creo or other 3D CAD software
• Technical documentation
• Sheet Metal Design
• Microsoft Office Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Word software
• PDM/PLM software
• Test and measurement equipment
• Hands-on testing or manufacturing experience preferred but not required
• Cross functional stakeholder management
• Communicating technical solutions to non-technical team members

The candidate should be responsible, self-motivated, able to work individually, in an engineering and cross-functional team environments, have a strong background in mechanical engineering and a good understanding of the manufacturing process.
