About the role

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will design, update, and modify large high-speed bottle and can filling equipment. Your focus will be on capital equipment design, standardization, documentation, and providing mechanical support for projects. You will report to the Engineering Manager in our DF&H Division.

Responsibilities

  • Manage BOM and drawing changes through a standard revision/Engineering Change Order (ECO) process in a PDM-controlled system.
  • Design and develop parts and assemblies using SolidWorks, including models, assembly drawings, and manufacturing/fabrication drawings.
  • Gather detailed information on vendor-supplied components and create vendor control drawings.
  • Prepare mechanical support for projects, such as welding/machining fixtures, layout drawings, field installation procedures, and other documentation.
  • Convert legacy drawings from AutoCAD or .tif to SolidWorks.
  • Develop subject matter expertise on assigned product lines.
  • Check and review drawings and documents for accuracy, functionality, and manufacturability.
  • Capture meeting minutes and notes from customer interactions to document needs and project changes.
  • Work with minimal direction and support project teams to ensure successful completion of multiple projects.
  • Actively participate in RCI (Rapid Continuous Improvement) to drive improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
  • Track costs, including personal time and spend, to maintain budgets and notify resources of expanded costs.
  • Document sources and history of design development throughout the project.
  • Assist in FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) preparation and execution.
  • Support VAVE (Value Assessment, Value Engineering) events as needed.
  • Provide shop and installation support, either in the office or on-site.
  • Interact directly with customers to define scope of work and understand their needs.
  • Provide technical direction and information to customers and coworkers.
  • Generate text for proposals, specifications, narratives, and other documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience, preferably in beverage or packaging equipment design.
  • Experience using SolidWorks for 3D modeling.
  • Experience using PDM or other drawing vault systems.
  • AutoCAD, FEA, and CFD experience preferred.
  • Integrity to support ethical engineering decisions.
  • Ability to collaborate with engineering professionals, customers, and coworkers.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.

Travel & Location

This position is onsite with approximately 15% travel required.
