Mechanical Engineer
About the role
We’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team. You’ll be working on projects that shape the spaces where people work, connect, and thrive. From designing high-performance data centers to dynamic commercial environments, your work will directly support technological advancement, sustainability, and human experience.
Responsibilities
- Cook up the mechanical design team’s work during the schematic design development and contract document phases of a project
- Set up meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance
- Divvy up the workload to make sure the document gets done on time
- Go to the project site and conduct work sessions with the Project Manager and other disciplines
- Check out the mechanical documents for any conflicts with other disciplines
- Write and edit mechanical specifications, select equipment, mechanical systems and devices
- Collaborate with and assist other disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders, and ensure agreed-upon changes are incorporated into the project documents
- Take charge of construction contract administration as needed
- Do quality assurance and quality control on the work of other Mechanical Project Engineers, Mechanical Project Coordinators or Mechanical CAD Technicians as needed
- Do other tasks as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- 5-10 years experience in HVAC and plumbing systems design
- Revit MEP experience preferred
- Computer experience utilizing MS Office, IESVE, Trane TRACE, or similar manufacturer selection software
- Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
- Commercial/institutional experience in healthcare, technology/data centers, and/or water-wastewater preferred
- A Master’s degree or other advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with mechanical emphasis
- Experience and/or interest in sustainable design, LEED, desired but not required
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Previous experience in mechanical system design of commercial or institutional buildings
- Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered
- Experience in commercial or institutional facilities
- Computer experience using MS Office, Trane TRACE or similar software, manufacturer selection software
- Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Pay
The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
This is a full-time position with a standard workweek.
