Mechanical Engineer
This role is with a large, publicly traded materials science company with tens of thousands of employees worldwide, over $15 billion in annual revenue, and a 170+ year history of inventing new glass, ceramic, and optical technologies. The company operates across five major segments: optical communications, specialty materials, display technologies, environmental technologies, and life sciences. Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and support root cause investigation and corrective actions
- Drive improvements to equipment reliability, performance, and maintainability
- Lead or support equipment modifications, upgrades, and replacement projects
- Serve as the go-to technical resource for your assigned equipment systems
- Partner with maintenance and operations to improve coordination, issue resolution, and equipment uptime
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance activities and strategies
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams during equipment startups and ongoing support
- Ensure work is completed in line with safety, quality, and operational requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (BS minimum) in engineering or a related technical field
- 3+ years of experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or process equipment
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical analysis skills
- Comfortable serving as a technical liaison across operations, maintenance, engineering, and project teams
- Eligible for work at a federally regulated facility; U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person status required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with reliability methodologies such as RCM, FMEA, or Six Sigma/Lean
- Experience with a computerized maintenance management system
- Experience in a semiconductor, solar, or advanced materials manufacturing environment
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (overtime as needed)
