About the role
A long-established, family-owned mechanical contractor providing comprehensive in-house mechanical construction services for commercial projects across the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a Project Manager.
Responsibilities
- Manage HVAC and plumbing construction projects, including contract review, scheduling, budgeting, and project execution.
- Lead Project Engineers, coordinate subcontractors and consultants, and conduct regular jobsite visits.
- Review RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, and project documentation to mitigate risk and maintain progress.
- Maintain project costs, cash flow, schedules, and milestones, proactively resolving issues and delays.
- Oversee project closeout activities, including warranties, as-builts, O&M manuals, and final documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent field experience considered.
- 5–10+ years of project management experience in mechanical construction with a strong focus on plumbing and/or HVAC systems.
- Hands-on construction background with experience managing commercial, multifamily, high-rise, retirement community, airport, or similar large-scale projects.
- Experience with contractors such as ACCO, Southland Industries, Murray Company, Bay City Mechanical, or similar firms is highly valued.
