Key Job Responsibilities

  • Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new projects.
  • Analyze problems or deficiencies and develop effective solutions.
  • Create and review technical drawings, reports, and specifications.
  • Create service and project-related documents in ERP (SAP).
  • Represent the company at meetings and conferences, delivering presentations as required.
  • Perform detailed documentation to track project development and the design process.
  • Estimate budgets and time scopes for projects, ensuring compliance with project timelines and budgets.
  • Ensure equipment and products meet health and safety regulations.
  • Inspect engines, generators, transmissions, etc., and conduct diagnostic tests.
  • Dismantle, remove, repair, rebuild, and assemble mechanical components.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve reported problems in a timely manner.
  • Test and adjust repaired mechanical parts for proper performance.
  • Keep work logs, report issues, and prepare technical reports.
  • Establish good relationships with staff, clients, vendors, suppliers, and professionals in the field.
  • Interact with customers to resolve technical issues.
  • Provide necessary support and technical documentation to subordinates and the workshop team.
  • Monitor workshop tools and machinery, ensuring standard and quality maintenance.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of proven mechanical engineering experience, ideally within the marine industry, with certification in MTU/ZF or hands-on experience in MTU/ZF.
  • In-depth knowledge of marine engine systems, their components, and associated mechanical engineering principles.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices pertaining to marine engine repair and maintenance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
