About the Role

The Engineer provides engineering support in all phases of maintenance, operations, design, and modifications for Ameren Energy Centers as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering studies to improve Energy Center reliability, performance, efficiency, and safety.
  • Perform field inspections, monitor operation, provide preventive maintenance recommendations, and optimize maintenance activities on assigned equipment.
  • Implement various codes and standards to ensure Energy Center compliance with local, state, and federal government regulations.
  • Utilize Energy Center and outside resources as the System Owner for assigned equipment to drive continuous improvement.
  • Optimize reliability and cost through predictive technologies, PI system (Plant Information Monitoring and Data Storage System), industry associations, and Energy Center personnel.
  • Actively support programs such as Plant Reliability Optimization (PRO) and the Corrective Action Program (CAP).
  • Follow and support Design Control and other Quality Management System policies and procedures.
  • Develop engineering solutions, cost and schedule estimates, maintenance and repair specifications in coordination with operating and maintenance groups.
  • Prepare required reports, job requisitions, work orders, and other documents; maintain records and revise drawings.
  • Implement computer technologies to use Energy Center facilities in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Interact with assigned system-related vendors and other groups within Ameren Company.
  • Subject to call-outs, nights, weekends, and/or holiday work to support power plants.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or comparable engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Energy Center experience preferred; boiler experience is a plus.
  • Preferably more than 5 years of experience.
  • Good analytical, human relations, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Computer experience required.
  • Ability to work overtime and take off-hour call-outs as necessary to support Energy Center operations.
  • Travel between energy centers across Missouri and the Power Operations Services office in the St. Louis area required.

Pay

Compensation range: $88,500.00 – $172,200.00. This range encompasses multiple levels of the role, with career level and compensation dependent on applicant’s credentials. Base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package, which may also include annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
