Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Lead the mechanical design and development of hardware systems and components using CREO (Creo Parametric).
  • Support the end-to-end product lifecycle, including concept development, detailed design, system integration, testing, and production support.
  • Develop and maintain accurate 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical, systems, manufacturing, and quality, to ensure successful integration of mechanical hardware into larger systems.
  • Perform production troubleshooting and root cause analysis for hardware issues to ensure timely resolution and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that mechanical designs meet performance, manufacturability, and reliability requirements throughout the development and production phases.
  • Participate actively in design reviews and incorporate feedback to improve design quality and robustness.
  • Maintain strong technical documentation, including design records, engineering reports, and configuration control of mechanical hardware.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on hardware design and development.
  • Proficiency with CREO (Creo Parametric) for creating 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience supporting the full product lifecycle from concept development through design, integration, testing, and production support.
  • Ability to conduct production troubleshooting and root cause analysis for mechanical hardware issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure designs meet performance, manufacturability, and reliability requirements.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams such as electrical, systems, manufacturing, and quality.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate and comprehensive technical documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working with complex, safety-critical or defense-related hardware systems.
  • Familiarity with structured design review processes and formal documentation practices.
  • Experience in systems integration involving mechanical, electrical, and software components.
  • Experience working in a production or manufacturing support environment.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively contributing to multidisciplinary project teams.

Work Environment

You will work in an engineering-focused environment that emphasizes collaboration, technical rigor, and high-quality hardware design. The role involves frequent interaction with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineering, systems engineering, manufacturing, and quality, to support integration and production activities. You will use CREO (Creo Parametric) and related engineering tools daily to develop and maintain 3D models, assemblies, and drawings. The work setting supports a structured product development lifecycle, including design reviews, testing, and ongoing production support for critical defense hardware systems.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $90.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
