Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Job Description This role focuses on mechanical design for new product development within a highly structured and regulated environment, supporting complex assemblies from concept through qualification. You will design and refine mechanical housings and internal elements, create and update 3D models and 2D drawings, and ensure robust, compliant designs through rigorous tolerance and GD&T practices. The position offers the opportunity to work on exciting projects in the aerospace industry while collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering teams. Responsibilities Design and update housings, attachments, mounting features, and internal mechanical elements for a variety of products.Create, revise, and maintain detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for components, assemblies, and sub-assemblies.Perform tolerance stack-up analyses for assemblies and sub-assemblies to ensure proper fit, function, and manufacturability.Apply, interpret, and refine GD&T on complex assemblies, ensuring drawings meet internal standards and industry best practices.Support transfer-of-work activities by re-dimensioning drawings, applying GD&T, updating bills of materials (BOMs), and aligning mechanical changes with established standards and procedures.Assist the engineering team during qualification activities, including test planning support, design robustness improvements, and engineering change request (ECR) driven design updates.Collaborate closely with electrical engineers and other internal engineering disciplines to resolve design issues and support proposals, testing, and production efforts.Contribute to technical reviews by presenting design decisions, analysis results, and risk mitigations for mechanical components and assemblies.Support the creation and execution of test procedures related to mechanical design, and incorporate feedback from testing into design improvements.Prepare and maintain clear status reports, design documentation, and configuration records throughout development and qualification phases.Ensure all mechanical design work adheres to structured processes, controlled change environments, and rigorous documentation requirements. Essential Skills At least 3 years of experience in mechanical design for new product development (NPD).Proficiency with 3D CAD modeling and 2D drafting using any major CAD package, with strong solid modeling skills.Must have Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline Demonstrated ability to create, update, and interpret detailed assembly and sub-assembly drawings.Strong GD&T expertise, including the ability to interpret, apply, and correct GD&T on complex assemblies.Hands-on experience performing tolerance stack-up and tolerance analysis for mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies.Experience designing assemblies and sub-assemblies with a focus on fit, function, and manufacturability.Solid understanding of structured design processes, configuration control, and design documentation standards.Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting project stages, design decisions, and design standards.Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams, including electrical and mechanical disciplines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Twinsburg, OH. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $39.00 - $44.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
