MECHANICAL ENGINEER – TUCSON

About the role

Responsible for specification and procurement of large industrial equipment used for hard rock mining, such as grinding mills, crushing equipment and conveyors. Knowledge base to include design of complex material handling systems including mechanical steel design.

Responsibilities

• Provide calculations and design mechanical equipment and fabrications which include conveyors, chutes, hoppers, bins, tanks, dust collections, and process and mechanical equipment.
• Specification, analysis and procurement of materials and mechanical/process equipment and the maintenance of equipment lists.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and departments to accomplish project goals.

Requirements

• A minimum of 1 year of related engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or related field.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, 3D modeling and MS Office.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and 3D (Inventor, Revit).
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally to other offices and project sites to provide field support for new and ongoing projects.
• Ability to work in a project team, maintain a project schedule, be a self-starter, detail-oriented, and have exceptional organizational skills.
• Ability to interact with clients and co-workers in a professional and respectful manner, working in a team environment with limited supervision.
• Valid passport or the ability to obtain one.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.

Desired Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Previous mining experience.
• Bilingual English/Spanish abilities.
• Experience as a discipline lead for multidisciplinary design and construction.
