Responsibilities

  • Prepare all necessary documents to support the interior and structural modification of Bombardier aircraft such as detail, assembly and installation drawings, specification documents and substantiation reports.
  • Coordinate with outside suppliers, internal departments and regulatory agencies regarding the design, installation, integration, and certification of new interior components to support floorplan modifications.
  • Research specification for component selection. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure specifications are met.
  • Support statement of work creation and bids for new customer requests.
  • Assist service center personnel in investigating, troubleshooting, and resolution of build/modification and test issues and create deviation drawings as required.
  • Work in a team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent with five (5) years relevant experience, or a minimum of ten (10) years of practical mechanical design experience in aviation.
  • Proficiency creating mechanical drawings using AutoCad or CATIA (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of applicable regulatory certification rules (FAA, EASA, TCCA).
  • Proficiency with MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access).
  • Ability to handle multiple initiatives effectively as a self-starter.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Organized individual, able to work effectively with a variety of cross-functional individuals, departments and organizations with a positive attitude.

Opportunity: Contract role based at Learjet Inc., Tucson.
