Mechanical EIT - Building Engineering
About the role
This role within HDR’s Building Engineering Services Group focuses on coordinating and performing mechanical engineering tasks, from project coordination to document preparation and construction oversight.
Responsibilities
- Cook up mechanical aspects of commercial or institutional projects
- Handle routine mechanical engineering assignments using standard techniques and procedures
- Write and refine mechanical specifications, and choose mechanical systems and devices
- Employ engineering software to calculate HVAC loads, conduct energy analyses, and select mechanical equipment
- Create construction documents for HVAC and plumbing design, including drawings, specifications, and reports
- Operate independently on smaller projects or assist senior engineers on larger projects
- Supervise work of Mechanical CAD Technicians, and coordinate design with architectural staff and other engineering disciplines
- Assume responsibility for construction contract administration, including field inspections and conflict resolution
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
- Commercial/Institutional experience in healthcare is a plus
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
- Experience with OSHPD/HCAI requirements is helpful
- Experience with Sciences, Laboratory, and Cleanroom is beneficial
- Proficiency in Trace 3D and IESVE is required
- 4+ years of experience with HVAC or plumbing is required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required
- EIT certificate required
- Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD is essential

Pay
The expected compensation range for this position is $71,000 - $101,000, depending on skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
