Mechanical Designer I

Duties and Responsibilities

• Create and modify drawings and 3D models based on designer or engineering markups.
• Ensure drawings comply with company and client standards.
• Coordinate designs with other disciplines such as civil, electrical, and GIS.
• Provide guidance to junior drafting personnel.
• Rigorously review drawings for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with company standards.
• Guarantee the quality of all work and meet required schedules.
• Support document control and organize drawing files.
• Participate in drawing reviews and coordination meetings.
• Show willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and software.
• Adhere strictly to all corporate safety protocols.

Required Skills and Abilities

• A solid understanding of mechanical engineering concepts.
• Proficiency with CAD and other software packages (AutoCAD, Plant 3D, CadWorx Plant, CadWorx P&ID, Isogen, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Google Earth).
• Ability to recognize and communicate design issues/conflicts to supervisors or more senior staff.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Organize and prioritize project workload.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Team player with good interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Occasional lifting of office supplies or equipment up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to move around the office for daily tasks and meetings.
