- Create piping models aligned with process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Routepiping systems considering safety, constructability, operations, maintenance, and accessibility.
- Select pipe materials, valve types, fittings, and specialty items based on project specifications and industry standards.
- Produce and finalize deliverables such as equipment layouts, line lists, tie-in details, and bill of materials.
- Work closely with mechanical, process, structural, electrical, and instrumentation teams to coordinate designs.
- Assist in field verification, site walks, laser scans, and as-built documentation.
- Support construction teams with design clarifications, RFIs, and redline updates.
- Ensure designs comply with project specifications, codes, and client standards (ASME, API, ANSI, USDA/FDA for F&B, etc.).
Qualifications
- 4-12 years of piping design experience in industrial facilities (manufacturing, chemical, oil & gas, food & beverage, or related).
- Demonstrated experience developing construction-ready piping design packages.
- Strong understanding of piping design principles, industrial equipment, and process systems.
- Proficiency in industry design software (AutoCAD, CADWorx, Plant 3D, E3D, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with applicable codes and standards: ASME B31.3 / B31.1, API, NFPA, and sanitary design standards where applicable.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in brownfield/retrofit conditions and navigating congested environments.
- Experience supporting FEL, detailed design, and EPC-style projects.
- Knowledge of skid-based systems, utility piping, and process equipment layouts.
