Mechanical Designer

Responsibilities

• Produces 3D models, drawings, and fabrication packages of custom equipment.
• Prepares component, subassembly, and main assembly Creo models.
• Creates detailed fabrication drawing packages.
• Evaluates and selects purchased components.
• Creates detailed Bills of Materials and completes equipment datasheets.
• Establishes model structure and drawing tree architecture for distinct deliverables.
• Maintains file naming conventions and Windchill folders.
• Supports checking of deliverables.
• Conducts design activities following regimented quality assurance / quality control procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in related field.
• High school diploma required; associate degree or higher preferred.
• Expert proficiency with Creo and Windchill, including strong mechanical design and GD&T application.
• Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrated capability in the design of custom equipment and/or containment systems, development of design documentation including fabrication drawings, equipment datasheets and design record documents.
• Experience in the DOE and DOD market segments a plus. Hands-on experience with typical equipment a plus.
• US Citizenship required for client projects.
• Able to acquire a security clearance.
