Mechanical Designer

Responsibilities

• Design powertrain and engine components using SolidWorks.
• Develop and build test equipment, leak test machines, and industrial washers.
• Collaborate with team members and industrial workers to ensure design accuracy.
• Participate in various projects, managing multiple tasks effectively.
• Address issues on the shop floor when necessary.
• Travel to customer facilities for approval and field checking.

Essential Skills

• SolidWorks Design experience with the ability to start immediately.
• At least one year of experience in automation design, particularly in powertrain automation equipment design.
• Experience with assembly and industrial washers.
• Relevant examples of automation design, such as conveyors and powertrain assembly.
• Experience with industrial washers is highly regarded.

Work Environment

• The work environment consists of a small office space in Livonia with fewer than ten employees on-site.
• Work will primarily be desk-based, with 90% of the time spent at the station and 10% addressing issues on the shop floor.
• The typical workweek is 40-50 hours, including possible Saturdays.

Job Type & Location

• This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Livonia, MI.

Pay And Benefits

• The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
