Mechanical Designer
About the role
The Mechanical Designer will launch their career as a Designer in the mechanical engineering group. This role prepares project deliverables that accord with standards and performs basic technical tasks.
Responsibilities
- Works with a team of technical staff to develop project deliverables ranging from design documents to technical reports.
- Applies knowledge of basic engineering concepts, principles, practices, and procedures for mechanical HVAC design, analysis, and investigation.
- Collaborates with other teams across the firm and with outside sources to coordinate tasks.
- Aids project engineers with more advanced technical activities.
- Uses appropriate technology and software (i.e. REVIT and CAD among others) to prepare project deliverables and production tasks assigned by senior project engineers or project manager.
Requirements
- Experience with applicable software (i.e. REVIT and CAD among others) within your own discipline.
- Aptitude and drive to analyze complex problems and convey solutions in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to independently perform basic HVAC layout designs and calculations.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to effectively shift attention between multiple projects.
- Experience and desire to work in an entrepreneurial and innovative environment.
- Possesses basic knowledge of general HVAC engineering practices and design concepts.
Qualifications
Associates degree or equivalent education and experience required. Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
