Responsibilities

  • Use your creativity and technical skills to build innovative solutions that protect and connect our customers' most critical assets.
  • Build product designs and comprehensive documentation for new and existing products, ensuring flawless execution of layouts, 3D models, drawings, BOMs, and other essential documents for manufacturing.
  • Manage both small-scale and portions of large-scale projects with minimal supervision.
  • Independently develop detailed product layouts for various build aspects.
  • Build components and assemblies using advanced 3D CAD systems.
  • Guide and aid in the fabrication of components and assemblies for prototypes and pilot builds.
  • Participate in Lean activities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop engineering, drafting, and release standards.
  • Conduct research to gather complete specifications, ensuring documentation accuracy.
  • Complete required calculations to verify dimensions, tolerances, and other specifications with minimal oversight.
  • Provide technical expertise in tools such as SolidWorks and Enovia.
  • Assess and approximate incoming engineering work, delegating tasks to Designer Associates as necessary.
  • Deliver leadership, task direction, and technical support to Designer Associates.
  • Absorb a documentation leadership role with some degree of supervision.

Requirements

  • A two-year technical degree in drafting or building preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical drafting/build, preferred.
  • Knowledge of drafting standards, GD&T, and manufacturing processes, preferred.
  • Proficiency in Product Data Management, ECO, and Product Development Processes, preferred.
  • Experience in mechanical design and managing the fabrication of components and assemblies, preferred.
  • Experience with Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Enovia, Oracle, and JD Edwards, preferred.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, preferred.
  • Ability to independently identify and define materials and information needed for projects.
  • Capability to assemble engineered build packages.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Three to five years of experience in mechanical drafting/building.
  • Knowledge of drafting standards, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in Product Data Management, ECO, and Product Development Processes.
  • Experience in mechanical design and managing the fabrication of components and assemblies.
  • Experience with Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Enovia, Oracle, and JD Edwards.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to independently identify and define materials and information needed for projects.
  • Capability to assemble engineered build packages.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.

Skills

  • Strong proficiency in 3D CAD systems (Inventor, SolidWorks).
