Responsibilities
- Use your creativity and technical skills to build innovative solutions that protect and connect our customers' most critical assets.
- Build product designs and comprehensive documentation for new and existing products, ensuring flawless execution of layouts, 3D models, drawings, BOMs, and other essential documents for manufacturing.
- Manage both small-scale and portions of large-scale projects with minimal supervision.
- Independently develop detailed product layouts for various build aspects.
- Build components and assemblies using advanced 3D CAD systems.
- Guide and aid in the fabrication of components and assemblies for prototypes and pilot builds.
- Participate in Lean activities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop engineering, drafting, and release standards.
- Conduct research to gather complete specifications, ensuring documentation accuracy.
- Complete required calculations to verify dimensions, tolerances, and other specifications with minimal oversight.
- Provide technical expertise in tools such as SolidWorks and Enovia.
- Assess and approximate incoming engineering work, delegating tasks to Designer Associates as necessary.
- Deliver leadership, task direction, and technical support to Designer Associates.
- Absorb a documentation leadership role with some degree of supervision.
Requirements
- A two-year technical degree in drafting or building preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical drafting/build, preferred.
- Knowledge of drafting standards, GD&T, and manufacturing processes, preferred.
- Proficiency in Product Data Management, ECO, and Product Development Processes, preferred.
- Experience in mechanical design and managing the fabrication of components and assemblies, preferred.
- Experience with Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Enovia, Oracle, and JD Edwards, preferred.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, preferred.
- Ability to independently identify and define materials and information needed for projects.
- Capability to assemble engineered build packages.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
Qualifications
