Job Description and Duties
The successful candidate will support engineering project efforts, translating design specifications and code requirements into product designs. This includes:
- Aid in the planning of product models and drawings.
- Create 3D models for design feasibility and interference detection.
- Produce 2D working drawings from 3D models, sectionals, and auxiliaries.
- Investigate engineering design problems, considering general technical direction, design goals, methods, and theoretical aspects.
- Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to ensure design requirements are met.
- Prepare supporting information, such as bills of materials, standard parts, and fasteners.
- Document work by recording data and drawings, updating databases.
- Support sales teams during proposal presentations.
- Provide technical assistance to the manufacturing floor to meet design requirements and resolve conflicts.
Qualifications
- Associates degree and at least one year of work experience in a relevant engineering discipline, or
- Equivalent work experience of at least four years demonstrating competency in mechanical machinery design.
- Proficiency in computer and CAD software, particularly SolidWorks.
- Knowledge of machines, tools, and their design and usage.
- Understanding of design techniques, tools, and principles for mechanical and electromechanical models and drawings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, composition, and grammar skills.
- Strong mathematical skills, including arithmetic, geometry, algebra, and other computational tools.
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and select appropriate resolution paths.
- Experience in laying out and interfacing technical components, detailing instructions, and assembling complex assemblies.
- Routine application of industry standards in assigned work.
- Thorough and accurate documentation of work.
Skills
