Mechanical Designer

About the role

The Mechanical Designer will produce detailed drawings of design-for-manufacture products including busbars, lugs, assemblies, and more. This role requires expertise in 3D CAD to create high-quality, technical drawings that push the industry forward.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop detailed drawings of busbars, lugs, cable assemblies, and related components.
• Translate customer vision into blueprint stages.
• Manage BOM, part numbers, and revision control.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance to ensure manufacturability and reliability of products.
• Follow all applicable company practices, policies, and procedures.
• Identify and resolve technical design issues.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to conceptualize drafts.
• Ensure drawings comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and trends in the field.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Conduct all work in compliance with safety rules and regulations.
• Perform other work duties as assigned.

Requirements

• AS Degree in Engineering or related discipline, a technical trade school degree and 2 years of related work experience, or at least 4 years of related work experience.
• Expertise in 3D CAD, cable routing, sheet metal, and machined parts.
• Working knowledge of how designed solutions may be used to develop manufacturability, qualification tests, and reliability parameters.
• Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Must be a U.S. person as defined in ITAR, 22 CFR 120.15 (U.S. Citizenship or Resident Alien Status) and defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20).
• Ability to legally work in the United States without sponsorship.
