Mechanical Designer
About the role
Join our team as a Mechanical Designer, where you will be pivotal in providing drafting and design work using SolidWorks and AutoCAD. You will have the opportunity to understand and contribute to the function and design of our diverse product lines. Collaborate with our design team to create and refine new and existing equipment, produce detailed drawings for manufacturing and field assembly, and ensure all standards and best practices are applied.
Responsibilities
- Provide drafting and design (CAD) work using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Understand the function and design of product lines.
- Collaborate with the design team on new and existing equipment.
- Produce equipment models and detailed drawings for manufacturing and field assembly.
- Review and accurately update drawings created by others.
- Apply drafting standards and best practices.
- Participate in peer review processes by reviewing models and drawings.
- Occasionally travel to job sites.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Minimum of three years of designer experience.
- Two-year drafting and design technical certificate, degree, or equivalent.
- Experience with mechanical design.
- Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with engineering change notice and ERP systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of PDM and ERP software.
- Experience in agriculture, material handling, material blending, or the fertilizer industry.
- Qualities such as productivity, dependability, resourcefulness, efficiency, and professionalism.
Work Environment
The role is office-based, supporting computer design with occasional trips to the shop floor. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The office is located upstairs, within the engineering department. The work environment is relaxed, with a culture that encourages wearing jeans and t-shirts. Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Fairmont, MN.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $60,000.00 - $60,000.00/yr.
