Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for parts, assemblies, production fixtures, and shipping arrangements using SolidWorks CAD software.
- Structure assemblies to follow and document the manufacturing process.
- Produce three-dimensional models of parts and assemblies.
- Create drawings that accurately and completely depict functional relationships of parts and assemblies.
- Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or address production problems.
- Review and analyze sketches, drawings, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs.
- Collaborate with engineers, production staff, and customers to resolve design challenges.
- Prepare technical illustrations for manuals and publications.
- Operate in compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Work with manufacturing engineering and production floor personnel to identify and resolve design and production issues.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate's degree in Computer Aided Design or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Minimum 4 years of drafting/design experience.
- Knowledge of steel fabrication techniques including laser cutting, forming, and welding.
- Basic Skills: Active listening and effective communication; critical thinking and logical reasoning; strong mathematical abilities; reading comprehension for technical documentation; problem-solving and decision-making.
- Technical Skills: SolidWorks CAD modeling, sheet metal, assembly, and drawing creation; understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes; understanding of ANSI documentation standards; understanding of AWS welding standards.
