Mechanical Design Engineer
About the role
Nissin Ion Equipment USA, Inc. (NIUSA) is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. This position is responsible for product development for component and system product assemblies for our ion implantation systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop conceptual designs based on product marketing requests and brainstorming sessions.
- Perform detailed design involving engineering calculations and FEA simulation when necessary to ensure the design meets its requirements.
- Design for cost, reliability, safety, and serviceability.
- Generate documentation such as assembly drawings, BOMs, and assembly procedures using Arena PLM.
- Prototype assembly and testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Expert skills in SolidWorks 3D CAD Design.
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks PDM and FEA Simulation experience with thermal and mechanical stress is desirable.
- Experience with vacuum system design is desirable.
- Knowledge of manufacturing techniques.
- Ability and willingness to be hands-on in a lab environment for prototype assembly and testing.
- Ability to work with a cross-functional team of scientists, engineers, procurement team, and laboratory staff.
Qualifications

Benefits
The salary range for this full-time exempt position is $80,000 to $95,000 annually, with a 3-month probationary period. Compensation may vary depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, competencies and location. Base pay is one part of the total compensation and benefits package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives.
