Mechanical BIM Engineer
About the role
This is an opportunity to step into a more advanced engineering role where your designs directly support large-scale electrical distribution systems, while working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to bring projects from concept through execution.
Responsibilities
- Develop and coordinate Revit-based BIM models for electrical and mechanical systems
- Create layouts, schematics, and detailed design documentation
- Cook up across engineering, project management, and customers to resolve design challenges
- Sustain accurate version control of all design files and documentation
- Support engineered-to-order project execution from design through build
- Incorporate design changes, field updates, and as-built information into models
- Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and project specifications
- Interface with manufacturing and shop teams to ensure design feasibility
- Participate in project coordination meetings and problem-solving discussions
Requirements
- 2–7 years of experience in BIM, MEP, or design engineering roles
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit (required)
- Experience working with a consulting engineering firm or electrical contractor supporting commercial or industrial projects
- Ability to read and interpret 2D drawings and construction documents
- Experience coordinating MEP systems within a BIM environment
- Working knowledge of tools such as Navisworks or similar coordination software is a plus
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Ability to take general direction and translate it into accurate design deliverables
Skills
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit
