Responsibilities
- Support the planning and coordination of mechanical systems including HVAC, process piping, plumbing, fire protection and related building systems
- Review drawings and specifications for constructability, coordination, and clarity
- Aid in mechanical scope development, system layouts, and sequencing strategies
- Create complete engineering documents for mechanical systems including plans and specifications
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Superintendents, and MEP team members to resolve design and field issues
- Participate in coordination meetings with design teams, trade partners, and owners
- Support review of submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings related to mechanical systems
- Assist with field observations to verify installation aligns with drawings and specifications
- Support system start-up, testing, commissioning, and closeout documentation
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, lessons learned, and best practices development
- Uphold JP Cullen’s standards for safety, quality, and teamwork on every project
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and Professional Engineering license
- At least five years of Design experience
- Advanced expertise and experience in the current release of AutoCAD and Revit
- Understanding of HVAC systems, mechanical equipment, and building systems coordination
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across disciplines
- Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
- Willingness to engage in both office and active jobsite environments
