Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support the planning and coordination of mechanical systems including HVAC, process piping, plumbing, fire protection and related building systems
• Review drawings and specifications for constructability, coordination, and clarity
• Aid in mechanical scope development, system layouts, and sequencing strategies
• Create complete engineering documents for mechanical systems including plans and specifications
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Superintendents, and MEP team members to resolve design and field issues
• Participate in coordination meetings with design teams, trade partners, and owners
• Support review of submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings related to mechanical systems
• Assist with field observations to verify installation aligns with drawings and specifications
• Support system start-up, testing, commissioning, and closeout documentation
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, lessons learned, and best practices development
• Uphold JP Cullen’s standards for safety, quality, and teamwork on every project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and Professional Engineering license
• At least five years of Design experience
• Advanced expertise and experience in the current release of AutoCAD and Revit
• Understanding of HVAC systems, mechanical equipment, and building systems coordination
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across disciplines
• Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
• Willingness to engage in both office and active jobsite environments
