Mechanical Assembly Technician I
About the role
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Assembly Technician I to join our manufacturing team in Franklin, MA.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical assembly of extrusion frames and related products.
- Complete basic electro-mechanical assembly tasks using proper grounding and ESD procedures.
- Follow work instructions, assembly drawings, and standard operating procedures to perform repetitive production tasks.
- Produce high-quality work while meeting established production goals and time standards.
- Conduct in-process inspections using visual checks, measurement tools, and quality checklists.
- Participate in cross-training initiatives to support production efficiency and team flexibility.
- Utilize a variety of hand and power tools, including: screwdrivers, hex keys, drills, saws, tape measures, assembly fixtures.
- Move materials throughout the facility using hand pallet jacks and approved material-handling equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company quality and safety procedures.
- Work overtime as needed to support production schedules and customer demand.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Ability to read and follow written work instructions.
- Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn assembly techniques.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools and basic assembly equipment.
- Ability to lift, bend, squat, reach, and stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Preferred
- Previous manufacturing, assembly, or production experience.
- Experience reading basic prints, assembly drawings, or work instructions.
- Familiarity with wire dressing and wire termination techniques.
- Experience operating hand pallet jacks in a manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Perform repetitive assembly tasks using hand and power tools.
- Stand for extended periods during the workday.
- Frequently bend, reach, squat, and perform other physical movements required for assembly operations.
Work Environment
This position is performed in a manufacturing environment where safety is a top priority. Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) May Include Safety glasses, Safety shoes, Additional PPE as required by specific tasks. Loose-fitting clothing and jewelry are not permitted in production areas.
