About the Role

Assembly of mechanical housings, systems, and hardware for both stand-alone products and products containing printed circuit board assemblies. Primary work is conducted while standing, utilizing hand tools (powered and manual), machinery, or applicable materials.

Responsibilities

  • Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.
  • Utilize hand-held tools such as hand-held screw and drill guns.
  • Maintain inventory of product in work stations.
  • Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
  • Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.
  • Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.
  • Adhere to all requirements and Board Handling.
  • Use Moisture Sensitive Device (MSD) handling requirements based on the components’ moisture sensitive levels (MSL).
  • Read and interpret assembly instructions, drawings, and work instruction processes.
  • Identify hardware, wire assemblies, sheet metal, and plastic components.
  • Work with miniature to large components that may require visual magnification.
  • Integrate electronic assemblies and cables into mechanical housings.
  • Use various hand tools (pliers, rulers, cutters, and pneumatic tools such as torque drivers, torque wrenches, and screwdrivers).
  • Support and follow all ISO standards related to NEO Tech’s various Quality Management Systems, including quality, environment, health, safety, and security.
  • Support all corporate and site 6S objectives.
  • Perform all other duties, as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to work on multiple procedures/products with highly repetitive or routine duties.
  • Ability to support 2 or more product lines/customers.
  • Normally follows established procedures on routine work; works under moderate supervision.
  • 2+ years of related experience or a vocational/technical certificate without related experience.
  • Computer proficiency required.

Skills

  • Ability to utilize an electronic manufacturing system.
  • Knowledge of IPC-DVD-64C Component Identification preferred.
  • Ability to train to IPC-A-610.
  • Sense of urgency; successful at meeting deadlines.

Physical Requirements

  • Perform general physical activities.
  • Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours.
  • Monitor processes, materials, and surroundings.
  • Spend time making repetitive hand motions.
  • Mechanical aptitude/dexterity and the ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
