What You’ll Do
- Assemble mechanical parts and subassemblies by following written instructions, pictures, and basic drawings so equipment is built correctly.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to put parts together according to work instructions.
- Line up, fit, and fasten parts in the correct order and direction to meet build requirements.
- Perform simple quality checks, such as visual inspections and basic function checks, to make sure work meets standards.
- Record work completed and parts used in required paperwork or systems to support accurate tracking.
- Identify missing parts, damaged materials, or problems and report them using site procedures.
- Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe by following safety rules, wearing required protective equipment, and practicing good housekeeping.
The Experience, Skills, And Abilities Needed
- A high school diploma, General Educational Development certificate, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in manufacturing, assembly, production, or hands-on mechanical work, or training that prepares you for this type of role.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions, pictures, and basic drawings.
- Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools, or willingness to learn.
- Attention to detail and ability to assemble parts correctly by checking fit and alignment.
- Ability to notice issues and speak up when something doesn’t look right.
- Ability to complete basic paperwork or computer entries related to your work.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting parts with or without help.
About the Role
This role is located in Whitewater, Wisconsin and involves working on-site at Coperion FHN, a Hillenbrand company. The shift is Monday–Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
