Mechanical and Material Testing Technician

About the role

The Mechanical and Material Testing Technician will conduct physical testing of medical devices in a product testing lab and assemble prototypes. Previous mechanical testing lab experience is preferred.

This position is NOT suitable for someone with a diagnostic laboratory background. This is for mechanical/electrical testing, not testing in the area of microbiology or chemistry.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physical testing of medical devices in a product testing lab
• Assemble prototypes
• Must have a Mechanical or Electrical background
• Previous mechanical testing lab experience preferred
• Not suitable for someone with a diagnostic laboratory background
• Testing is limited to mechanical/electrical, not microbiology or chemistry

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic computer skills
• Knowledge and experience of laboratory test equipment
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• A high level of attention to detail
• Able to follow detailed instructions

Qualifications

• College Diploma not necessary but a high school diploma is required
• Instron testing equipment experience is nice to have but not required
