About the role
R+L Carriers is seeking Trailer Mechanics at their Kentwood, MI Service Center. Responsibilities include diagnostic processes, repairs, and overall trailer maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Perform safety inspections and prepare safety documents as required by FMCSA, company, and local regulations
- Interpret technical manuals
- Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems
- Test equipment for proper performance and ensure compliance with manufacturer's specifications and regulations
- Conduct trailer preventive maintenance (PMs) and repairs
- Lift up to 50 lbs
- Own personal tools
- Be dependable and adaptable to varying weather conditions
Requirements

Qualifications
- Preferred: Experience using Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System, welding experience, previous experience with Class 8 commercial vehicles, sheet metal and composite panel repair experience

Pay and Schedule
Earn up to $38.85 per hour, full-time, Monday – Friday, second and third shifts.
