About the role
R&L Carriers is seeking Trailer Mechanics at their Burlington Township, NJ Service Center. Responsibilities include diagnostic processes, repairs, and maintenance of trailers.
Responsibilities
- Perform safety inspections and prepare safety documents as required by FMCSA, company, and local regulations
- Interpret technical manuals and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems
- Test equipment for proper performance and ensure compliance with manufacturer's specifications and regulations
- Conduct preventive maintenance checks on trailers
- Lift up to 50 lbs and own personal tools
- Work in various shifts and climate conditions
Requirements
- Experienced in performing safety inspections and preparing safety documents
- Ability to interpret technical manuals
- Experience in repairing or replacing trailer parts and systems
- Knowledge of trailer preventive maintenance procedures
- Experience with Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System
- Welding experience preferred
- Experience driving yard tractors and trailers
- Previous experience working on Class 8 commercial vehicles
- Sheet metal and composite panel repair skills
- Dependable and willing to work in varying weather conditions
Qualifications
- Own your own tools
- Preferably experienced with Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System
- Preferred experience with welding
- Experience driving yard tractors and trailers
- Previous experience working on Class 8 commercial vehicles
- Sheet metal and composite panel repair skills
