About the Role
R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Diesel Mechanics at our Salem, VA Service Center. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for day-to-day equipment maintenance on our fleet equipment consisting of preventative maintenance and minor to major repairs to Class 8 trucks, trailers, and potentially forklifts. This can include maintaining trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, welding depending on location.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and minor to major repairs on Class 8 trucks and trailers
- Maintain trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and potentially forklifts
- Perform welding as needed depending on location
Requirements
- Experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines
- Must be able to handle major repairs
- Experience with AC and Electrical systems
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Must have own tools
- 2+ Years of Diesel Mechanic experience preferred
- Experience in preventive maintenance of Cummins & Detroit engines preferred
- Experience using Cetaris for work orders preferred
- Experience in Trailer PMs and repairs preferred
Pay & Schedule
- Earn up to $35.31 / hr.
- Full-Time, Monday - Friday, Various Shifts
