MECHANIC-TOOL ROOM

Full-time position at HII’s Ingalls Shipbuilding Division, the largest manufacturing employer in Mississippi and a major contributor to the economic growth of Alabama. U.S. citizenship is not required for this role.

About the role

Examine tools and portable power equipment (such as acetylene cutting torches and tips, pneumatic hammers, portable grinders, tampers, portable drills, impact wrenches, portable pumps, and pressure gages) upon return to the tool room to detect damages or excessive wear and to ensure they are in suitable condition for reissue. Recalibrate precision measuring tools against standards, making simple adjustments. May also issue tools and equipment from the tool room and keep necessary checks and records.
