Mechanic Technician

About the role

Join our vehicle sustainment team in Ft Benning, GA, providing maintenance support to multiple families of vehicles globally on the Allied Logistics Engineering Capabilities Sustainment (ALECS) program.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks, or tractors.
• Replaces worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts.
• Grinds and adjusts valves; rebuilds carburetors; overhauls transmissions.
• Repairs fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3 or more years of relevant experience.
• Valid Driver’s License for the work location.
• Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screening.

Preferred Qualifications

• Willingness to travel to various US or OCONUS locations.
• Current/active Secret clearance.

Clearance Requirements

Must be a US Citizen with a current/active Secret clearance.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to balance, bend, carry, crouch, stretch, and kneel.
• Ability to push, pull, and reach.
• Ability to work in high noise areas.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and handle small parts.
• Ability to work with computers, CRTs, and type on a keyboard.
