Primary Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot & repair rotating and reciprocating equipment
- Analyze and problem solve (differentiating between an equipment problem and a process problem)
- Advocate for safe work and housekeeping practices. Exhibit safe behaviors
- Work closely with other departments, customers, and peers to ensure quality maintenance services
- Operate mobile cranes, manlifts, forklifts, etc. as necessary to complete work
- Support minor mechanical design and project work as well as turnarounds
- Identify ways to reduce the cost of repairing equipment while maintaining or increasing the quality of repairs and increasing the reliability of the equipment
- Update equipment key historical information (repair findings, failures mode, etc..) in the equipment files or maintenance management system
- Follow equipment repair procedures and provide inputs to increase the effectiveness of a given repair procedure
- Participate on maintenance excellence improvement plans
Job Requirements
- High school diploma; technical school a plus
- Mechanical maintenance experience such as millwright, machinist and mechanical repair in a chemical, refining, or industrial plant. This plant experience should include troubleshooting and repair of pumps, turbines, compressors, gear boxes, fans and blowers
- Good at adhering to strict safety guidelines and cognizant of safety risks. Demonstrate safe behavior
- Working knowledge of mechanical seals, flush plans and seal failure analysis
- Demonstrated ability to perform rotating equipment repair, overhaul, and troubleshooting
- Must have good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience reading equipment prints, securing information from OEM manuals, and proficiency with measurement tools (micrometers, dial calipers, etc.)
- Possess basic computer skills. Experience in SAP a plus
- Be a self-starter and self-motivated. Communicates and collaborates effectively
- Able & willing to work overtime on weekends and off hours
- Must have a valid TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card) or be able to secure one within 30 days
