Mechanic - Rentals

About the role

Performs physical tasks in the shop, warehouse, or field in support of operations including inspection, repairs, and maintenance of equipment, troubleshooting, interpretation of equipment manuals, and training/mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment; reviews equipment status with operational personnel and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of trucks and equipment.
• Inspects, repairs, maintains, and makes recommendations and performs modifications to functional parts of a variety of equipment and machinery.
• Diagnoses maintenance requirements on diesel engines, transmissions, drive lines, differentials, electrical circuits, AC power plant, hydraulic systems, and chassis through diagnostic aids, inspections, and interpretation of equipment reports with assistance.
• Disassembles, overhauls, and replaces worn parts on equipment as required.
• Troubleshoots conventional and specialized equipment and controls with assistance.
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• May perform gas and arc welding as required in routine maintenance.
• Assists in training and mentoring maintenance technician trainees; orients operators in maintenance procedures and field maintenance for specialized equipment.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving history.
• Mechanical skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of trucks, cranes, and related equipment.

Qualifications

Minimum

• Education: Less than High School Education.
• Work Experience: 0-2 years related experience.

Preferred

• Education: High School Diploma/Equivalent.
• Work Experience: 2-4 years relevant experience as maintenance technician in oil and gas industry.
• Class A CDL.
• Current HSE certifications.

• Precise hand/eye coordination: Constantly.
• Basic keyboarding or other repetitive motions: Frequently.
• Operation of heavy equipment or vehicles: Occasionally.
• Lifting/pushing objects weighing over 50 lbs: Frequently.
• Climbing and working in awkward and cramped positions: Occasionally.
• Ability to work safely in a shop/warehouse environment.
