Mechanic, Maintenance

About the role

This position is within the Maintenance Mechanic department at Workwear Outfitters. The company is a leading supplier of work apparel and footwear for various industries.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair motorized conveyors, robotic picking equipment, and all equipment in the distribution facility.
• Perform industrial and facility maintenance activities, including grounds, gates, plumbing, lighting, fire sprinkler systems, electrical, production, and shipping equipment.
• Repair and maintain sewing machines such as Barudan, Brother, PFAFF, and Juki.
• Complete planned and unplanned maintenance and repairs with a customer service focus.
• Follow directions, pay attention to details, and communicate progress and issues promptly.
• Use various hand and power tools effectively.
• Work collaboratively with others without being distracted from job duties.

Requirements

• 1+ years of related industrial maintenance experience.
• A high school diploma or equivalent education.
• Technical or trade school candidates are preferred.
• Candidates with industrial controls and PLC knowledge are preferred.
• Previous maintenance experience is preferred.
• Ongoing compliance with attendance policies is mandatory.
• Must be able to operate a scissor lift, forklift, and other vehicles safely.
• Must have good communication and computer skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Must be able to climb and work at heights.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Some overtime and Saturday work may be required.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience repairing and maintaining sewing machines such as Barudan, Brother, PFAFF, and Juki. Must be independently competent to accomplish tasks and take initiative to correct deficiencies.
