Mechanic - PM

About the role

Buffalo Biodiesel Inc. is seeking a Preventative Maintenance Mechanic to support our shop operations and ensure our vehicles remain safe, reliable, and compliant.

We are a growing company that collects and recycles used cooking oil to produce biodiesel, operating in 15 states with service to over 27,000 locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on commercial trucks and fleet vehicles
• Complete DOT-compliant inspections and document all findings
• Conduct routine services: oil changes, filters, brakes, tires, fluids, batteries, lights, etc.
• Maintain accurate PM logs, service records, and inspection documentation
• Communicate vehicle status and repair needs with the head mechanic and fleet management team
• Follow all company safety standards and federal regulations
• Support shop cleanliness, organization, and inventory control
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or community college courses in automotive technology or related fields is preferred
• 2+ years' experience performing preventative maintenance on commercial trucks or heavy-duty vehicles
• Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and truck components
• Ability to complete DOT-level inspections
• Reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Valid driver's license; CDL preferred but not required
• Maintain a drug-free lifestyle (Buffalo Biodiesel complies with the Federal Drug-Free Workplace Act)

$35.00 per hour

Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
