Position Summary
The Line Mechanic reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and is based out of our Seabrook, New Jersey location. This individual will be responsible for safely repairing and maintaining machinery in the plant. This includes preventative maintenance, machinery repair, projects, as well as production support of any kind.
Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions of the Job)
- Safely use hand tools and basic power tools
- Complete all documentation and paperwork associated with maintenance, including documenting deficiencies and problems on PM paperwork
- Uses preventive maintenance methods, including proper greasing, oiling, cleaning, and adjusting of machinery
- Proficiencies in the following areas:
- Pneumatics
- Hydraulics
- Piping and valves
- Bearing removal and installation
- Pumps, motors, couplings, and shaft alignment
- Tig and Arc welding
- Repairs all plant machinery, including, but not limited to, the following:
- Depalletizer and Rinser
- Filler and Capper
- Krones, P.E., Burt and Clowe Labelers
- Casepacker
- Palletizer
- Boxformers, Casesealers, Glue Pots
- Conveyors and all other line associated machinery
- Pressing equipment and systems
- Wastewater equipment and systems
- Contributes to PM development through active participation, paperwork completion, and idea generation
- Capable of working with 110V to 480V electric circuits
- Troubleshoots motor wiring, switches, fuses, and other common electrical failures
- Builds/fabricates steps, supports, brackets, structures, etc.
Education and Experience
- Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Experience in Manufacturing or production environment
- 5 years of maintenance experience required
- Weld proficiently to repair and fabricate – Tig and Arc
- Proficient in the use of a cutting torch and plasma cutter
- Operates a forklift, man lift, pressure washer, and basic power tools
- Basic math abilities to calculate times, speeds, temperatures, etc.
- Able to communicate in a professional and courteous manner
- Able to function as a team player under demanding circumstances
- Able to recognize and utilize the proper Personal Protective Equipment for specific tasks
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Up to date training in Hazcom; LOTO; Welding, Cutting, and Brazing Safety; Forklift Safety; Confined Space Entry; and Electrical Safety
- Detailed oriented and can multi-task
- Excellent time management skills
- Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the food/beverage industry
- Ability to direct, coach, and train others
- Consultative, influential, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Frequent: Ability to talk and hear; ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend, and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use of hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual and electronic equipment in the area of responsibility.
- Occasional: Squatting, kneeling, ability to reach above and at shoulder height. Ability to wear a dust mask, and perform Confined Entry using LOTO program. Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.
- Vision: Ability to use close and distance vision, as well as color and peripheral vision with or without correction. Must be able to visually detect obstacles and potential dangers in a fast-paced production environment involving high-speed equipment and powered industrial lift equipment.
- Hearing: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Exposure to noise levels from pumps, machinery, forklift traffic, bottle lines and exhaust fans.
Pay
The starting hourly rate for this position is $31.30/hr.
