Mechanic/Machinist
About the role

Responsibilities
- Machining replacement parts, project components, and prototypes.
- Provide highly skilled mechanical support to manufacturing, including PM's, tooling, machine repair, machining, and training and guidance on these tasks to 'A', 'B', and 'C' level mechanics.
- Support maintenance by troubleshooting and repairing all manufacturing equipment on a scheduled and as-needed basis.
- Complete PM tasks such as filter, inspection, oil, etc.
- Perform tight-tolerance machining tasks using manual machining equipment (mill/lathe/grinders).
- Make small-batch parts from prints.
- Knowledge of materials/substrates.
- Set up and operate all machine shop equipment (saws, drills, mills, lathes, grinders, CNC, etc.).
- Train 'A', 'B', and 'C' level mechanics on higher skill level maintenance tasks.
- Operate and repair industrial trucks.
- Make recommendations for continuous improvement and error proofing initiatives.
- Utilize advanced design engineering capabilities to recommend equipment upgrades.
- Perform complex level fabrication repairs and projects (aluminum, stainless steel, welding).
- Troubleshoot and diagnose complex equipment issues (registration, timing on printing and finishing processes).
- Troubleshoot and identify basic electrical equipment (breaker and fuse).
- Support and assist Facilities and Electrical maintenance staff as needed.
- Operate fork trucks/man-lifts as needed.
- Use a variety of tools to perform maintenance duties including hand and power tools.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, OEM prints, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Communicate with machine operators as needed to perform efficient and effective troubleshooting and equipment repair.
- Comply with all industry standards and regulations (ISO, FDA, etc.).
- Support and assist 'C' and 'B' level mechanics as needed.
Qualifications
- GED or High School Diploma
- 5-7 years mechanic experience within a manufacturing setting with advanced level skills.
- Must have completed technical/mechanical training courses/certificates.
- Preferred qualifications: Tool Room machinist, Manual operation of lathe/mill/grind, R&D prototyping.

Pay
The expected salary range for this position is $27.25/hour-$36.25/hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.
