Mechanic II - Manteca, Ca.
Role Overview
The maintenance Mechanic II will oversee and conduct all maintenance tasks, coordinate major equipment repair, and handle fabrication duties for various small projects within each facility. This position will also respond quickly to emergency maintenance situations and provide contractor oversight.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee and conduct all maintenance tasks and work with management to coordinate major equipment repair.
- Cookout preventive maintenance programs to meet mechanical needs and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Handle fabrication duties for various small projects within each facility.
- Respond quickly to emergency maintenance situations and provide contractor oversight when needed to provide a solution.
- Oversee and manage equipment list and assess new equipment for preventative maintenance needs and failure points.
- Report mechanical and electrical problems to management, up to and including stopping a production line.
- Ensure compliance with all Food Safety Guidelines, FDA and OSHA guidelines, as well as Federal and State laws governing the workplace.
What You Bring To The Role
- 2+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work off-hours when needed, including carrying an on-call phone and answering when called.
- Willingness to occasionally work extended shifts to get breakdowns and special projects completed.
- General understanding of Preventive Maintenance programs and how to implement these in a manufacturing facility.
- Ability to evaluate mechanical issues and implement solutions.
- Ability to lift 55 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs as well as work from heights – no fear of heights.
- Ability to work in narrow and confined spaces – no claustrophobia.
- Welding and/or electrical certifications are preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge of processing equipment such as mixers, screw conveyors, hammer mills, grain legs is preferred.
- Average or Technical degree in a pertinent field.
Compensation And Benefits
The base compensation for this position ranges from $27.21 to $36.32 per hour. Please note that wages may vary depending on skills and experience.
