Mechanic II

Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, inspections, and fluid services.
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, air brakes, steering, suspension, and hydraulic systems.
- Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify maintenance and safety concerns.
- Absorb and complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- Collaborate with senior mechanics on complex diagnostics and major repairs.
- Accurately complete work orders, maintenance records, and inspection reports.
- Follow all DOT, OSHA, and company safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Respond to roadside service calls as needed.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current on equipment and industry best practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two to four years of experience maintaining and repairing diesel or heavy-duty vehicles.
- Working knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
- Ability to diagnose and complete intermediate-level repairs with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver's license.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to document maintenance activities accurately.
- Experience with fuel trucks or petroleum equipment is a plus but not required.
Qualifications
- Must pass all required pre-employment screenings, including a background check, drug and alcohol screening, and any other evaluations required by law or company policy.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must have a strong attention to detail and follow safety protocols.
