About the role

This role monitors the function of the processing equipment to ensure proper operation of equipment, allowing continuous line flow and processing to meet customer demands. This position has the responsibility of performing routine preventative maintenance as well as performing unplanned repairs while supporting operations.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and process equipment throughout the facility to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
• Perform maintenance work, repair, and adjustment of equipment; change and replace belts, pulleys, sprockets, bearings, chains, motors, and general maintenance on other specialty equipment specific to processing.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance; conduct scheduled equipment inspections; identify and document equipment deficiencies.
• Work collaboratively with operations personnel to minimize downtime while maintaining the highest standards of safety, food quality, and workmanship.
• Diagnose mechanical problems, repair rotating equipment, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulic and pneumatic systems; perform welding and fabrication; install new equipment; participate in continuous improvement projects.
• Complete assigned preventive maintenance inspections; accurately document inspection findings; create and update SAP maintenance notifications and work orders; record corrective actions.
• Ensure maintenance records are complete, accurate, and timely.
• Perform and document line checks and preventative maintenance, including lubrication and inspection of equipment to prevent or identify failures.
• Understand and explain the purpose and operation of all equipment in the processing area; make decisions on appropriate troubleshooting and repair of equipment as situations warrant.
• Perform structurally sound welds using appropriate equipment as needed.
• Update CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) with status and details of work order results daily.
• Follow all company policies, food safety requirements, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, equipment reliability, and operational excellence.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
• Lock-out/Tag-out, Forklift, and Sanitation certification required (training provided if not already qualified).
• Experience performing maintenance in a manufacturing environment, specifically food processing highly preferred.
• Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing.
• Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English, both written and oral.
• Ability to perform basic math functions.
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Valid Driver’s License and driving record that meets Lamb Weston Driving Standards.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.
• Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature.
• Exposure to manufacturing environments including: loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells, and allergens.
• Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist, and hand movements required for job actions and procedures.
• Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
• Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Freezer Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Plant Operation.
• Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders on a regular basis.

Pay

A reasonable hourly estimate for this role is $31.34. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's work location, job duties, experience, and expertise.
