Mechanic I Packaging

About the role

Lamb Weston is seeking a Mechanic I Packaging to join our team in Pasco, WA. This full-time position is responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment in the packaging department.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and promotes safe work practices
• Performs line checks, corrective and preventative maintenance
• Examines parts for imperfections and identifies reasons for failure
• Trains new employees on proper and safe equipment repair techniques
• Operates powered lift trucks, scissor lifts, and snorkel lifts

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Two-year certificate from college or technical school preferred
• Experience in maintenance and repair of packaging equipment
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and write accurately
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and geometry
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks in high places

Qualifications

• Understanding of safety policies and procedures
• Knowledge of welding, soldering, bolting, riveting, and bonding
• Ability to set up and operate fabricating machines
• Welding, cutting, and installing piping and equipment

Skills

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain 5S standards
• Effective communication and teamwork skills

Pay

Industry-competitive pay rate starting at $34.01 per hour.
