Roles and Responsibilities
- Assemble mechanical and pneumatic components into sub-assemblies across multiple models in each of their respective product lines
- Ensure proper fit of all parts by drilling, grinding, or shimming to adjust to a proper fit
- Interpret and provide feedback on engineering drawings, identifying discrepancies and recommending design improvements
- Diagnose and resolve advanced mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues during assembly and testing
- Move large parts and machines around manufacturing floor using forklift or overhead crane
- Promote teamwork and mentor less experienced team members
Qualifications
- 1 year+ of experience in assembly and manufacturing environment
- Ability to operate equipment, troubleshoot, and problem solve
- Organized with a strong attention to detail, dedicated to quality and safety
- Frequent standing, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical school training, apprenticeship, or relevant industry certification in mechanical assembly, manufacturing, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience)
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in wastewater, industrial equipment, or heavy machinery manufacturing
- Leverage of lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement techniques (such as Kaizen, 5S)
