Job Summary

This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus. The role involves the maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance of hospital buildings, equipment, and the physical plant. It also includes the preventative maintenance of refrigerators and ice machines. The incumbent must complete established competencies within a designated introductory period.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance on all refrigerated items and keeps a log book of all services done including Freon amounts
• Performs preventative maintenance on many types of hospital equipment and a variety of heating and air conditioning equipment
• Replaces light bulbs, fluorescent tubes, switches, plugs, receptacles, ballast, and makes repairs on faucets, commodes, and other duties as needed
• Performs preventative maintenance on all refrigerators, warmers, heating and cooling systems
• Assumes all responsibility for checking and maintaining and making repairs on: refrigerators, ice machines, coolers, freezers, boilers, chillers, vacuum pumps, Medical Air Compressors and all associated plant equipment
• Runs errands
• Documents all work performed on appropriate logs and work orders
• Works shifts as assigned
• Assumes on-call responsibilities as necessary based on facility's schedule
• Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively
• Maintains a safe environment
• Participates in Performance Improvement activities

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School Graduate or equivalent
• Prior to 2023: Minimum Experience: 5 years in a hospital or 7 years similar experience in a industrial environment
• Effective 2023: Minimum Experience: 10 years hospital experience
• Required Certifications/Licenses: EPA Refrigerant Recovery Certification, Training certification in mechanical, air conditioning
• Prior to 2023: Preferred Certifications/Licenses: EPA Certification Refrigeration License
• Prior to 2023: Required Courses/Completions: NA
• Effective 2023: Required Courses/Completions: CPR
