About the role

Austin Industrial provides premier self-perform maintenance, construction, and soft craft service to leading industrial companies across the U.S. This Mechanic/Fuel Truck Driver position involves automotive repair and maintenance, as well as delivering gasoline to site automotive.

Responsibilities

  • Performs skilled work such as engine performance diagnosis, troubleshooting, and making needed repairs.
  • Repair or replace broken motors, brakes, transmissions, and AC systems.
  • Perform body work, tune-ups, fluid changes, and other automotive repairs.
  • Abide by company policies including attendance, safety, processes, teamwork, and training.
  • Repair and maintain park vehicle fleet, generators, and small engines on various park equipment.
  • Perform mechanical inspections and repairs to rides.
  • Transport fuel and fueling equipment; deliver gasoline to assigned accounts on a daily route.
  • Respond to spills and environmental releases according to company emergency response plans and EPA guidelines.
  • Communicate delivery exceptions, product shortages, and equipment issues to dispatch and terminal management.
  • Maintain equipment and tools in good condition.
  • Read scanners and understand diagnostic codes.
  • Work with other departments to complete assigned duties.
  • Exhaust knowledge is a plus.

Requirements

  • Valid CDL-A with HAZMAT endorsements and TWIC Card.
  • 4 years of Journeyman-level experience.
  • Legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States (Austin Industrial is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship).

Physical, Mental & Environmental Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and use hands and fingers to perform assigned duties.
  • May require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds.
  • Work at elevations, on uneven surfaces, or in confined spaces.
  • Sufficient visual, hearing, communication, and motor skills to safely perform job responsibilities.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow safety procedures, work instructions, and company policies.
  • Exercise sound judgment, solve problems, maintain attention to detail, and manage stress in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Work in industrial and construction environments with exposure to weather conditions, temperature extremes, noise, dust, fumes, moving equipment, vibration, and other site-specific hazards.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and meet all customer, site, regulatory, medical, and fitness-for-duty requirements.
  • Perform all job duties while maintaining a constant commitment to safety, quality, and productivity expectations.
