Mechanic Feedmill Lvl A

About the role

Feedmill Level A mechanics are responsible for managing and guiding the maintenance preventative schedule, overseeing other Level A mechanics to ensure that proper procedures are performed. They conduct daily reviews of all feed mill equipment to ensure continuous operation at optimum levels. They possess advanced knowledge of feed mill equipment and can handle routine and non-routine tasks.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and perform preventative maintenance on all Feedmill Equipment and Machinery
• Ensure that all procedures are properly followed while conducting a repair
• Inspect feed mill equipment daily, detect potential mechanical and electrical problems, and implement solutions
• Conduct consistent hourly checks on boiler room
• Respond to breakdowns, assess and coordinate proper resources to address problems
• Maintain required written records/reports for work performed, corrective actions, and parts management
• Manage requisitions and inventory
• Adhere to all safety requirements, including PPE, preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions
• Follow Lock out Tag out procedures and Process Safety Management related matters

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Technical training in mechanics
• Experience in a manufacturing setting preferred
• 5–7 years of experience in Feedmill Maintenance
• Experience with three-phase electricity, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, torching, rigging, and fabrication
• Ability to handle a variety of routine and advanced mechanical tasks, including manual blowdowns, changing sight glasses, regenerating softeners, changing out pipe fittings, and housekeeping
